In this series I interview some of my favourite bloggers and delve a bit deeper into their blogging life. This week I’m pleased to introduce Emma from Life in a Mum’s Lane, a working Mum with 2 children. Over to you Emma…..

What made you make the jump into the blogging world?

Initially my blog was set up as I’d self published an ebook in December 2013. I had no idea about the blogging world & just jumped in.

What was the inspiration behind your blog name?

Originally it was book related but I renamed in November 2015. I find being a mum is a little like being a taxi driver so Life in the Mum’s Lane seemed fitting.

Is blogging your main career or just a hobby?

Definitely a hobby although I’d love to carve out a small income in the next 12 months.

What topics do you blog about?

Mostly parenting & days out. I also share some short stories I’ve penned.

If you didn’t have your blog what would be your dream job?

An author or English teacher. Sadly I’m neither.

If you aren’t blogging what could we find you doing?

Mostly I’m at various parks with the kids. At home I love reading & cooking programmes although don’t really like cooking.

What’s been your biggest blog success story?

I’m not sure I’ve had a big success story yet. I was thrilled to receive tickets in exchange for a review back in the summer & it helped my confidence in my blog enormously.

What would be your advice to anyone looking to start their own blog?

Have fun! You can easily get bogged down in stats. Also ask yourself why you are doing it. A hobby? Personal outlet? Career? This will alter how professional you should make it look & how much time you’ll need to invest.

Lastly, can you tell us something that people may not know about you?

I wore glasses for over 20 years and had laser surgery 3 years ago.

If you’d like to get to know Emma a bit better then pop over and have a read of her blog. You can also find her on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
