In this series I interview some of my favourite bloggers and delve a bit deeper into their blogging life. This week I’m pleased to introduce Rose from Bell and Bear, a part time Nanny and Mum of two. Over to you Rose….
What made you make the jump into the blogging world?
I started blogging to help with my dyslexia. My spelling and punctuation aren’t very good and now Bear is in school I thought it would be a good way to try and improve it all. I also thought it be a good way to record the children growing up
What was the inspiration behind your blog name?
Bell and Bear are the children’s nicknames, I did debate about using their real names but to be honest I use their nicknames about 60% of the time so it made sense
Is blogging your main career or just a hobby?
Blogging is just a hobby at the moment, I am a self employed child carer who offers emergency and ad hoc babysitting
What topics do you blog about?
I blog about day to day life with Bell and Bear, A bit about food, family, a review or two and what ever pops into my mind
If you didn’t have your blog what would be your dream job?
I would love to work as a Travel agent, I think the world is amazing and beautiful in many ways. You can also learn a lot about people, their culture and their life just by travelling
If you aren’t blogging what could we find you doing?
I love a good book or a good film, so I would either be reading or watching a film whilst knitting. But usually I am dashing around doing housework
What’s been your biggest blog success story?
I don’t have any stories, but my best post was writing about being a mum without a mum. It took a long time to write as it was hard to put into words but I have had many people comment that it really touched them
What would be your advice to anyone looking to start their own blog?
Don’t do it! I’m kidding, small steps are the best way forward, you aren’t going to get 3,000 followers over night, interact with other bloggers, write on their blogs, Instagram and twitter. Join a few blogger groups as they are full of honest, helpful advice and no question is silly!
Lastly, can you tell us something that people may not know about you?
I do not like being in a enclosed space, I always worry about being stuck in a lift or a tunnel. I love travelling but hate flying, I also panic when I am in a busy place to. I don’t know why. Luckily I don’t have panic attacks but it does make me very cautious
If you’d like to read more from Rose then pop over to her blog. You can also follow her on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
I love the idea of this series, it’s always good to find new bloggers to follow instead of seeing the same posts day after day 🙂 xo

It was nice reading about Rose and her blog, I would love to be a travel agent too if I wasn’t doing my current job
Lovely interview. I agree that interacting with other bloggers is a great way of building your own x
This is a great series! I love the idea of being a travel agent, although I work in travel marketing which is also awesome!
I love reading g these posts it’s tells you so much about the person behind the blog and makes you feel like you know them rather than just words on a page
This is such a lovely idea. I love discovering new bloggers and your series seems like a great way to be introduced to some new reads x
When I’m not blogging I can also be found reading a good book or watching a good movie 🙂
Its great getting to know other bloggers, totally agree getting followers overnight isn’t the usual and its great to keep working at it
I love reading these posts, always interesting to read the back story behind a blog! 🙂
I love that bell and bear are the kids nicknames its so beautiful and makes it really personal to you!
love this! Its so true though. People expect to start blogging and gain 1000 followers overnight. I was one of those people haha!
Was nice to get to know more about you! And I think you should try to become a travel agent, if that’s your dream job… go for it :)!
Such good advice and itnis true, you won’t set up a blog and then the following morning wake up find you have a billion followers.
