Our wedding day is something that so many of us look forward to, but it’s a day which can be so easily underwhelming, disappointing or even embarrassing if not properly planned. We all want to have that romantic and idyllic wedding day that we will remember for the rest of our lives, for all of the right reasons.
Here I’ll share some of the things that will help to make your wedding as perfect as possible.
A fairytale venue
A priority for most brides – not least as your choice of venue will guide so many of the other vital decisions you make during your wedding planning. Many people, for instance, dream of a traditional French chateau wedding. The perfect setting for this is the noble and historic Château Bouffémont, which provides the most enchanting possible venue for your nuptials and it’s conveniently located just 30 kilometres from the centre of Paris. With its spectacular manicured French gardens, refined interior decor and all-round aristocratic charm, the private venue is very much a fairytale one.
The most jaw-dropping wedding dress
A lot of brides will want to make an entrance that turns heads – and your choice of wedding dress will be instrumental in ensuring that happens. There are so many different styles of wedding dress to choose from, and some will flatter your figure more than others – so this guide from Hitched may prove useful.
The process of searching for and selecting a wedding dress can be time-consuming and stressful, so it’s important to set a few ‘ground rules’. Be open-minded when trying on different styles, as there may be a certain dress type that you expect to love, only to end up walking out of the boutique with something very different. However, it’s also vital to have the ability to stop looking and settle on something. After all, there are so many other aspects of your wedding that need to be organised.
The right bridesmaids
At every stage of the wedding planning, your bridesmaids should be the ones that you can depend on for support – so don’t just choose anyone. Being asked to be someone’s bridesmaid is a big honour after all. You should probably refrain from asking friends you’ve only recently made, or cousins you hardly ever see. Instead, look to your sisters, other close relatives and best friends who have stuck by you, through the good times and the bad.

A wedding photographer who will capture every moment
As special as your big day promises to be, it will also be over before you know it. A great wedding photographer will produce the shots that enable you to relive the memories of your nuptials in the best possible way. Spend a decent amount of time comparing photographers portfolios – which photographers produce work that just seems to have that style or ‘vibe’ you love? If you have any particularly specialised requests, is the photographer that you have in mind willing to accommodate them?
It can be so easy to be guided by price when you choose your wedding photographer – but try not to be. Above all else, you will want your chosen photographer to do a great job of capturing those special and emotional moments, instead of simply providing straightforward ‘documentation’ of events on the day.
Delicious food and drink
The gastronomic side of your wedding is important for the simple reason that hungry guests will put a dampener on the entire mood of your big day. However, you should also be unafraid to apply some creativity to what you serve, in the context of the intended theme of your wedding.
People who choose Château Bouffémont as their wedding venue wish to have a French-style wedding, so may prepare French-style cuisine to match. They have a chef on-site who can prepare the food that your guests will rave about long after other elements of your big day have been forgotten. However, they can also give you 24-hour-a-day access to their entire equipped guest kitchen so that if you prefer, you can have your own caterers prepare whatever dishes you may have in mind.

A sense of fun!
Yes, you will have a lot of serious work to do in terms of planning the intricate details of your big day – but once you actually have all of those essential things arranged, it’s equally crucial to let it all go, relax and look forward to your wedding. You shouldn’t be spending the day itself continually checking with your wedding planners that every single thing is happening exactly as you asked it to happen. Instead, revel in the serendipity of it all as it unfolds.
Smile, laugh and remember that this really is supposed to be the most special day of your life – so treat it that way!
